Tanzperformance
Das Dance Archive Box Projekt wurde erstmals in Japan von der Tanzdramaturgin Nanako Nakajima ins Leben gerufen. Von Japan aus zog das Tanzarchiv nach Singapur und wurde dort vom Theaterdramaturg und Regisseur Ong Ken Sen weitergeführt. Noch vor der Pandemie erreichten die Tanzarchivboxen Berlin und Studenten des MA-Tanzstudiums hatten die Möglichkeit, ihre eigenen Choreographien auf der Grundlage des Materials der Boxen zu entwickeln. Die Leitfragen waren: Inwiefern ist es möglich, Tanz von seinem historischen Hintergrund zu trennen und wie kann Tanz als Ressource für eine neue Schöpfung genutzt werden? Wie kann Tanz geteilt werden, auch wenn man seinen Ursprung nicht mehr genau bestimmen kann? Wie kann so (Tanz-)Geschichte rekonstruiert werden - und für wen? Welche Aspekte des Tanzes sollten in einem Archiv übertragen werden?
Anhand der Materialien, die in den Dance Archive Boxen zur Verfügung standen, entstand ein Dialog in Form einer Performance, die im Februar 2020 an der Akademie der Künste in Berlin gezeigt wurde.
Die so entstandene Tanzperformance Solo quedaron cuerpos untersucht wie sich Trauma in Körper und Stimme manifestiert. Innerhalb der fragilen Performance wird die Möglichkeit einer Erinnerungskultur durch verwobene Geschichten und Bewegungen untersucht und ihre Entwicklung und Veränderbarkeit im Laufe der Zeit verfolgt. Katja Wiegand ist eine Berliner Künstlerin mit deutsch-russischem Hintergrund und Postgraduierte des Masters Tanzwissenschaften/ Dance Studies der Freien Universität Berlin. Sie arbeitet als freischaffende Performerin, Regisseurin und Dramaturgin. Darüber hinaus unterrichtet sie Methoden des Physical Theatre. Ihre bisherige Tanzperformance Soilace wurde im August 2018 auf dem Tanzlandfestival und im Mai 2019 in den Lake Studios gezeigt. Im Februar 2019 war sie Jurymitglied beim Internationalen Tanzwettbewerb der International Dance Association (IDA) in Florenz. Seit November 2020 arbeitet sie für den Master Choreographie am Hochschulzentrum Tanz der Ernst Busch Schauspielschule in Produktionsmanagement und Kommunikation. In ihrer Arbeit engagiert sie sich für Performance making als Strategie für eine gerechte Gesellschaft und möchte kollektives Engagement fördern, um Gemeinschaften aufzubauen, die ökologische und soziale Merkmale des Systems, in dem sie arbeiten und verwalten, kritisch diskutieren und definieren.

Gabriela Lobo Calderon wurde 1987 in Costa Rica geboren und studierte Tanz an der Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. Sie hat ebenfalls einen Bachelor in Psychologie und arbeitete in San José in verschiedensten Kulturpädagogik-Programmen. Sie war Teil des Festival Nacional de coregrafos und nahm an einer Tanzproduktion Enamorate de tu ciudad teil. Von 2016 bis 2018 war sie Teil der Theatergruppe Die Überlebenden, die mit einer Gruppe von Flüchtlingen in Würzburg zusammenarbeitete. Sie interessiert sich für Themen wie Intimität und Subjektivität und deren Beziehung zu sozialen Strukturen. Derzeit ist sie Postgraduierte des Masterstudienganges Tanzwissenschaft/ Dance Studies an der Freien Universität Berlin.
Alexey Kokhanov ist Sänger, Soundkünstler und Performer mit Sitz in Berlin und Moskau. Sein Gesangsstudium schloss er an der Universität Mozarteum Salzburg und dem Flandern Operastudio in Gent ab. Alexeys Tätigkeit umfasst die Aufführung zeitgenössischer Musik, die Schaffung von Klangdarbietungen und Meisterkurse zur Vokalimprovisation. Alexey ist Gastkünstler am Electrotheatre Stanislavsky und Künstler des Krymov es Laboratory an der School of Dramatic Art Theatre. Mit der Produktion von Krymov es Laboratory und Royal Shakespeare Company trat er beim Shakespeare Festival (2012), Edinburgh Festival (2012), Perth Festival (2014), Wellington Festival, im Barbican Centre London und im Taichung Art Centre auf. Mit der Oper Octavia. Trepanation von D. Kourliandsky war Alexey beim Holland Festival Amsterdam und teatro Olimpico in Vicenza (2017) zu sehen. Seit 2015 trat Alexey in der Rolle als Regisseur und Komponist selber auf.

The Dance Archive Box is a project originated in Japan by the dance dramaturg Nanako Nakajima. It moved from Japan to Singapore and was hosted there by the theatre dramaturg Ong Ken Sen before the boxes traveled to Berlin.
This time the dance archive boxes moved to Berlin and students of the MA dance studies had the chance to develop their own choreographies based on the material provided by the boxes. Leading questions were: In which way is it possible to separate dance from its historical background and how can it be used again as a resource for a new creation? In which way can a dance be shared without having the possibility to relocate and exactly know its origin? In which way can (dance) history be reconstructed - and for whom? Which aspects of dance should be transmitted in an archive?
Using the materials offerend by the archive box a dialog in form of a performance was created and was shown at the academy of arts in Berlin.
The dance performance Solo quedaron cuerpos explores patterns of trauma localised in body and voice as well as its development over time.
Katja Wiegand is a Berlin-based artist with german-russian background. She currently studies the ma in dance studies and works as a freelance dramaturg, director, performer, dancer and actress and as a teacher of physical theater methods. Her last dance performance „Sólo quedaron cuerpos“ was shown in February at the Academy of Arts Berlin. Her previous dance performance „Soilace“ was shown at Tanzlandfestival in August 2018 and at Lake Studios in May 2019, both in Germany. In 2019, she started to work with a performance collective on immersive theater productions. She was a jury member in the International Dance Competition of the International Dance Association (IDA) in February 2019 in Florence. She engages in performance making as a strategy for equitable societies and fosters collective engagement in her work as a way of building communities that debate and define ecological and social features of the system within which they operate and manage. Her focus is on the body in performance trying to bring together seemingly distinct disciplines, like performance practices, dance studies, theater practices, social sciences, politics, philosophy a.o. Her performances –bend time, touch, voice, reshape and question the body. The body is understood as a stage where the scripting qualities of societal structures are rehearsed and performed in perpetuum and ad infinitum.

Gabriela Lobo Calderon was born 1987 in Costa Rica and studied dance at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. She also holds a ba in psychology and worked in San José in cultural pedagogy programs. She was part of the Festival Nacional de coreógrafos and took part in an dance production Enamorate de tu ciudad. Between 2016 and 2018 was she part of a theatre group „Die Überlebenden“ working with a group of refugees in Würzburg. She is interested in themes like intimacy and subjectivity and their relationship towards social structures. At the moment she is a postgraduate student of the ma dance studies at the Freie Universität Berlin.
Alexey Kokhanov is a singer, sound artist and performer based in Berlin and Moscow. Singing studies at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and Flanders Operastudio in Gent, Belgium. Alexey’s activity includes the performance of contemporary music, creation of sound performances and master classes on vocal improvisation. Alexey is a guest artist at the Electrotheatre Stanislavsky and artist of the Krymov’s Laboratory at the School of Dramatic Art Theatre. With production of Krymov’s Laboratory and Royal Shakespeare Company he has performed at the Shakespeare Festival, Edinburgh Festival 2012, Perth Festival 2014, Wellington Festival 2014, in Barbican Centre London and Taichung Art Centre. With opera “Octavia.Trepanation” by D. Kourliandsky Alexey was seen at Holland Festival Amsterdam and Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza (2017). From 2015 Alexey started make performances by himself as a director and composer.
